The Northern Virginia Alliance of Camera Clubs (NVACC) realized that the quality of camera club programs and competitions could be improved if there were a Directory of Speakers and Judges and in 1997 we published our first Directory. It has been updated several times. This is the latest version.
The criteria for inclusion in the Directory are that the speakers and judges have spoken or judged within the last two years at an area camera club and would be invited back or recommended to another club. One club, of course, may recommend a speaker or judge who may not be recommended by another club.
Some good speakers and judges are not included in this Directory, in part because our listing includes only those who spoke or judged in the past two years. Surprisingly, some clubs did not recommend any speakers or judges who visited their cub in the past two years. We apologize for any omissions.
We urge all area camera clubs to institute a system for evaluating speakers and judges shortly after they visit the club and this information should be passed on to succeeding Program and Competition Chairs.
We suggest clubs not rely exclusively on those listed in this Directory when selecting speakers and judges, but rather make every effort so seek out, identify, encourage and invite new talent to augment and supplement the current roster of speakers and judges listed here. Note that NVACC-Trained Judges are listed separately on this Website; the ones who also have been recommended by area clubs are denoted by NVACC.
